Statement
My artwork investigates the process of moulding and casting to explore the role of the reproduction or the replica and a sense of individuality. I am particularly interested in how a process that is designed to produce identical copies can be utalised to create unique artworks. My current work revolves around the casting of thousands of wax heads, each one manipulated so that it is a unique object. To each individual mould I add different materials such as hair or use different colour combinations that result in no two casts being the same. More broadly, my practice is concerned with our relationship to objects, comodities and ideas around exploitation, all of which manifest through a material investigation of process.
